( To the tune of Battle Hymn
Of The Republic
written by
Julia Ward Howe in November 1861
Words inspired
by poetry from Our Friend Mary Lea of England)
Behold God's Throne
My eyes beheld the Glory
of my God upon his throne
A rainbow shone about Him
Such splendor never known
And standing there before him,
I saw God's most Holy One,
There stood Jesus, God's Own Son
There stood my Jesus, God's Own Son
And I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
I cried Glory ,Glory ,Halleluia
I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
To my Father, to the Son
To my Father God
and Glory to the Son
His Glory filled the temple
With both lightning, smoke and fire
Holy voices cried out "Holy"
To this great consuming fire
I stood in awe and trembled
I beheld my hearts' desire
My great God's consuming fire
His Glory is a great consuming fire
GLORY, GLORY, GLORY
I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
To my Father, to the Son
To my Father God
And Glory to the Son
My eyes beheld the Glory
Of my God upon his throne
A rainbow shone about him
Such splendor never known
And standing there before him,
I saw God's most Holy One,
There stood Jesus, God's own Son
There stood my Jesus, God's Own Son
And I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
I cried Glory, Glory, Halleluia
To my Father, to the Son
To my Father God
And Glory to His Son
